Plot Overview
Game Changer story is based on the same motives as Shankar Movies like there is corruption in the political system and then a hero comes and deals with it and fights for justice, values, ethics, and social reforms. It features a character, Dr. Ramanandan, who is originally studying to be a doctor in college. But to deal with his anger issues, he ends up pursuing IAS, all because of his favorite woman’s suggestion. He started preparing because his girlfriend told him to channel his anger into fixing the country and use it for a good cause.
But, he missed by 6 marks and ended up becoming an IPS officer. The crazy part is that when he came back after their training, his girlfriend Kiara Advani, who is now Dr. Deepika, cut off all contact with him. She had one condition: if you accidentally become an IPS officer, you better not go around taking out your anger on people. That’s why he was so determined to become an IPS officer for years and kept trying, hoping that one day he’d make it, and when he became an IAS Officer he started dealing with corrupt politicians.

Positives of The Movie
In Game Changer, Ram Charan was really good in the emotional scenes, whether they were in the past or present. That guy brought the moment to life, and you could feel it. And SJ Surya’s. His character evolves with this intensity that you notice right from the start, and by the end, he’s on a whole other level. You think the character is one way at first, but then he crosses so many lines with his incredible performance that was genuinely impressed. It was pure evil.

The main cast Game Changer did a decent job, but I mean, Kiara Advani just played a love interest, which isn’t exactly impressive. She could have done so much more, but the makers thought they needed a heroine who looked a bit hot and could shine in prime scenes, so Kiara was their best choice. She does her part well and then kind of fades into the background.
The editing of Game Changer is over-the-top with effects and graphics. The pacing of the editing keeps you engaged. You know, a good movie keeps you hooked with something happening on screen all the time. And honestly, that’s the same tactic they use to keep kids interested. So, TV channels always use stuff like this in their cartoons. There’s always going to be some kind of action happening on-screen – colors spinning around, something flashy and popping off.
There’s always going to be some eye-catching stuff on screen that keeps kids glued to it, They’ve saved the film with that kind of editing. We didn’t find what the original vision was, which isn’t bad, but it’s not exactly groundbreaking either
Where It Falls Short
Shankar is also really famous for his over-the-top use of CGI and VFX in his films. And man, he doesn’t hold back. They’re throwing in all these effects—like, they do this, they do that, they show everything. Seriously, every single song and almost every new moment has some kind of effect going on in Game Changer. And the songs go so over-the-top that it’s like they’re mixing Barbie Land with Interstellar or something.
The storyline of Game Changer just didn’t make any sense. The logic follows a certain direction, and it gets presented in a way that, for the sake of convenience, has so many twists and turns that by the time you reach the climax of Game Changer, it just feels like they give up. Your brain starts to give up too, and you start thinking maybe they told their assistant to just grab that boat camera and shoot another 500 shots from the same angle.

I mean, it looks cool in some places at first, but if it’s used all the time, it just becomes a trope, like meme material. Seriously, it feels like that’s all you do, like you’ve got nothing else in your bag of tricks.”
I’m not going to say this was a wasted opportunity, and I’m not trying to save them with some grace marks or passing scores. They had a decent story, the message was good, and they were talking about making the world better. Shankar has been pushing this same message for the last ten years. You can feel his creative fatigue in his direction and cinematography. It’s like, what more can they show us? We’re seeing the same thing recycled over and over again. Honestly, after watching the Game Changer, you’ll be left wondering what’s next.
You will get confused about the hero’s role; it’s like a running joke whether he’s an activist, a double role, a farmer, an IPS officer, an IAS officer, a CM, or an election commissioner. What’s he even supposed to be? Ram Charan says a line in the movie that he’s ‘very unpredictable,’ so honestly, that should be the actual title of the movie—’Unpredictable’ instead of Game Changer, After watching this film, you will feel pretty exhausted and a bit irritated.
